Audioslave...perfect.
Finished two of the most grueling months of my life at work and came to one conclusion: the road is better to me than a stationary existence.
I opened a new concept at work, something totally new to our company, and I did it almost completely on my own. Oh sure, there were those, "hey, you should do this" phone calls from a well meaning VP or IT guy, but in the end I hoofed that *FOAT* over the ledge.
What did I learn? Well, no matter what your title says, there are no letters that go before your name that make you stop being a jackass. Also, if you are incapable of grasping what it is that your customers want you shouldn't try and fake it in meetings. The "VP" did that.
The funny thing is I like most of those guys, but the brass balled she-beast of a President has them all quivering and second guessing themselves. Not me baby. I have the road to clear my head.
And so, on most nights, I can leave those turds 100 miles behind me and imagine them stretching their irrelevant suggestions out to the back of my ride as I push the RPMs up past 4500. I can make their doltish directions dissipate behind the whine as I push my four cylinder box on wheels past 95 on a Grapevine grade that most only see once a year driving out of state.
Yeah, it was a stressful month, but I've got the road, and thank the road gods for that!
